The accomplishments for which we are cited result from the hard work, commitment and professionalism of our Staff, Board of Directors and Volunteers.

2016

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point was recognized with National Marketing & Communications (MAC) Award at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference in New Orleans.  The award was a Bronze Level Award in Comprehensive Marketing Strategy.
  • Markel Insurance recognized Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point with the prestigious Safety 1st designation for 2015.  Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point is one of the 4 Clubs nationwide to receive the designation.  Each year, Markel’s Safety 1st program recognizes policyholders who have shown an exceptional commitment to the safety of their employees and customers.  Camps and Clubs must meet stringent criteria to qualify for the Safety 1st designation.  They must have a proven safety record, undergo formal assessments and inspections, and participate in continuing education and certification programs recognized for keeping safety a top priority.

2015

  • Latoya Bullock, VP of Operations was honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs Professional Association as the S.E. Professional of the Year at BGCA’s S.E. Regional Conference in Atlanta, GA in March.
  • Board Member Jon Kemp was honored with the a BGCA National Medallion Award in April.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point was recognized with National Marketing & Communications (MAC) Awards at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference in Chicago.  The two Silver Awards were in Advertising and Interactive/Online Marketing; the two Bronze Awards were in Publicity/Media Relations and Publications; and Gold Award was in the Great Futures Start Here Campaign.

2014

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point received the Award for Program Excellence in Education and Career Development for its Teens With a Plan Program at the NC Area Council Leadership Conference.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point won four Gold and one Silver Marketing & Communications (MAC) Awards at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference in San Francisco.  The Silver Award was in the Comprehensive Marketing Strategy category; the four Gold Awards were in Publicity & Media Relations; Publications; the Blue Door Campaign; and the Great Futures Start Here Campaign.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point received the 2013 Southeast Regional Board Team of the Year Award at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Southeast Regional Leadership Conference in Daytona Beach, Florida.  The organization’s Board of Directors was honored as the top board for a Boys & Girls Club in the Southeast Region which consist of 9 states and Washington, D.C.
  • Latoya Bullock, VP of Operations was honored as United Way of Greater High Point’s Non-traditional Loaded Executive of the Year.
  • Board Member Louise Foster named High Point’s 2013 Citizen of the Year by the High Point Enterprise.

2013

  • North Carolina Honor Award for Program Excellence in the area of Education & Career Development for the summer reading program, Reading Eggs.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point received the 2013 Board Team of the Year Award at the annual meeting of the NC Area Council of Boys & Girls Clubs.  This award was received because of the organization’s national recognition of  three gold awards in the area of marketing, adding five new members to its Board, attending national and local trainings, and the creation of two college scholarship funds to name a few.  The organization’s Board of Directors was honored as the top board and was among 45 Boys & Girls Clubs organizations across the state who were eligible for the award.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point won three Gold Marketing & Communications (MAC) Awards at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference in Orlando.  The awards were for Comprehensive Marketing Strategy, Advertising & Publications, and the Great Futures Start Here Campaign.
  • VP of Development, Holly Ferree, was honored with the 2013 Rotarian of the Year by the Triad Rotary Club.

2012

  • Ralph Lauren is selected as the recipient of the North Carolina 2012 C,A.R.E. (Children Are Reason For Excellence) Award.  The CARE Award is given to an individual or business that has provided outstanding in-kind or direct support to their local Boys & Girls Club.
  • Board Member Warren Preston Presented with the prestigious Robert W. Fowler Pacesetter Award- Highest Award Given in the Southeast Region from Boys & Girls Clubs of America to a Volunteer
  • 2012 Silver -National Marketing and Communications Awards from Boys & Girls Clubs of America for Comprehensive Marketing Strategy
  • Danny McDonald, Carson Stout Club Director honored by The Elks Lodge of High Point with the 2012 Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award
  • 2012 Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Medallion Recipient- Clint Farabow was honored with National Medallion Award at the organizations Steak & Burger Dinner.
  • A North Carolina 2012 Honor Awards for Program Excellence for programs in the Sports, Fitness & Recreation.

2011

  • Jon Kemp is selected as the North Carolina 2011 Board Member of the Year.
  • Gold Award in 2011 National Marketing and Communications Awards from Boys & Girls Clubs of America for Online/Interactive Marketing.

2010

  • A North Carolina 2010 Honor Awards for Program Excellence for programs in the Arts.
  • Clint Farabow is selected as the North Carolina 2010 Board Member of the Year.
  • High Point Bank is selected as the recipient of the North Carolina 2010 CARE (Children Are Reason For Excellence) Award.  The CARE Award is given to an individual or business that has provided outstanding in-kind or direct support to their local Boys & Girls Club.
  • Gold Award for 2010 Comprehensive Marketing Strategy, Bronze Award for Initiatives and Special Events, Silver Award in Publications.

2009

  • A North Carolina 2009 Honor Awards for Program Excellence for programs in Health and Life Skills.
  • Two Silver Awards in 2009 National Marketing and Communication Awards program for Publications and Publicity/Media Relations.

2008

  • Two North Carolina 2008 Honor Award for Program Excellence in Overall Program and Character and Leadership Development.  Of the 41 Club organizations statewide, this organization the only one to receive Honor Awards for nine consecutive years and received the most awards over that time with a total of twenty.
  • 2008 Board Team of the Year for state of North Carolina.

2007

  • A North Carolina 2007 Honor Awards for Program Excellence for programs in Health and Life Skills.
  • Jon Kemp is selected as the North Carolina 2007 New  Board Member of the Year.
  • 2007 Brand Matters Excellence Award for excellence in compliance with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s graphic standards.
  • 2007 National MAC (Marketing and Communications) Award for Comprehensive Marketing Strategy from Boys & Girls Clubs of America – the highest marketing award given by the national organization.
  • A Gold and two Bronze Awards in 2007 National Marketing and Communication Awards program for Website, Publications, and Publicity/Media Relations.
  • Danny McDonald receives 2007 Professional of the Year from the North Carolina Area Council of Boys & Girls Clubs.

2006

  • 2006 Art Williams In-Service Training Award for the Southeast Region.
  • Two North Carolina 2006 Honor Awards for Program Excellence for programs in Education and Career Development; and Character and Leadership Development.
  • Colin Merritt is selected as the North Carolina 2006 New  Board Member of the Year.
  • 2006 Brand Matters Excellence Award for excellence in compliance with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s graphic standards.
  • 2006 Services to Military Youth Award from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
  • Two Gold and a Silver Award in 2006 National Marketing and Communication Awards program for Website, Publicity, and Comprehensive Marketing Strategy.

2005

  • David Black is the North Carolina 2004 Board Member of the Year.
  • The 2004 National Honor Award for Overall Programs with the Honor Awards for Program Excellence from Boys & Girls Clubs of America – the highest program award given by the national organization.
  • 2004 National Merit Award with the Honor Awards for Program Excellence for Health and Life Skills Programs.
  • Silver and Bronze Award in 2004 National Marketing and Communication Awards program for Publicity and comprehensive Marketing Strategy.

2003
